More than Conquerors

'Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or the sword?... No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither present nor future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord'

NIV Romans 8: 34-40

God created everything in the world; everything we experience. When Jesus died on the cross, to create hope and salvation for us all, he conquered every evil in this world. And this passage from Romans reaffirms that nothing can separate us from the love of God. 

In the past, during difficult times, I've often thought: 'God doesn't understand what I'm going through'... 'Why is he letting me struggle?' 'What if he's never dealt with this before?' And it was only during this past year that I finally understood, that Jesus died for everyone's sin, everywhere; so of course he understands what I'm going through; because he died for it and conquered it!

With God's love, we are more than conquerors. We are no longer trapped by this life and the hardships we face. We are free to know God, and knowing him brings peace and salvation.

Think like Mary

Luke 10:38-42 reads: “Now as they were travelling along, He [Jesus] entered a village; and a woman named Martha welcomed Him into her home. She had a sister called Mary, who was seated at the Lord’s feet, listening to His word. But Martha was distracted with all her preparations; and she came up to Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to do all the serving alone? Do Not be Anxious

The Bible tells us, over 400 times, to ‘fear not’. It is the most common command given to believers in the Bible. If the word of God tells us the same thing, so many times, then we need to realise that it must be important. That we need to learn from it and obey what he has asked us to do or not to do. ‘ Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
