What I know in my Soul



It doesn’t matter what is going on in life. It could be something awful, it could be something amazing. It could be something uncertain, or all the pieces could be coming together. But the love I have for God, in my soul, is unchanging. It glows.

I remember feeling like this for the majority of my life. It’s like the part of me that I know will never change. It is the stern of my ship, the beat of my heart, the air that I breathe.

When someone asks me, ‘how can you believe in God??’. My souls’s response is, ‘How can you not???????’. It is the soul relationship that they are missing. Once your soul has been touched by Jesus, then there’s no going back. There’s no desire to go back. There is just joy and love and trust and the best friend and defender you could ever know.

When any of our family or friends ever lets us down, it can be so painful. But we always seem to forget, that they are only human. We are only human. We make mistakes ALL the time. Even those of us with the purest hearts. 

What I know, and what I hope everyone will come to know, is that God is not in the making mistakes business. He will NEVER let you down. That’s why he is my first love. That’s why he is my best friend. That’s why I will always need him more than anyone. 

And it’s not just my brain that knows this. My soul knows it too.

Do Not be Anxious

The Bible tells us, over 400 times, to ‘fear not’. It is the most common command given to believers in the Bible. If the word of God tells us the same thing, so many times, then we need to realise that it must be important. That we need to learn from it and obey what he has asked us to do or not to do. ‘ Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.’ Philippians 4:5-7 It is important here, that we do not confuse mere ‘fear’ with the fear of God. We are told numerous times in the Bible to fear God, because our fear leads to understanding, knowledge, wisdom, goodness, God’s protection and, ultimately, salvation. Think like Mary

Luke 10:38-42 reads: “Now as they were travelling along, He [Jesus] entered a village; and a woman named Martha welcomed Him into her home. She had a sister called Mary, who was seated at the Lord’s feet, listening to His word. But Martha was distracted with all her preparations; and she came up to Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to do all the serving alone? Then tell her to help me.” But the Lord answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and bothered about so many things; but only one thing is necessary, for Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her.” As I read these verses recently, they really struck a chord with me.
